Bij Humasol geloven we dat nauwe partnerschappen, waarin duurzame technologie en sociale solidariteit samenkomen, tot échte impact leiden. Daarom begeleiden we elk jaar studenten die hun kennis en energie inzetten voor duurzame technologieprojecten over de hele wereld. We zijn een studentenorganisatie met zo’n 120 vrijwilligers, de documentaire zoomt in op één projectteam van vier studenten.
We volgen een team van Belgische en Senegalese studenten (KU Leuven en UCAD Dakar) doorheen hun volledige traject rond Ferme Moringa in Mbodiène, Senegal – een pedagogische agro-ecologische boerderij die kwetsbare gezinnen en jongeren opleidt in duurzame landbouw. Samen ontwierpen en installeerden ze er een zonnepaneleninstallatie, een elektriciteitsnet en een waterpompsysteem. Tijdens de voorbereiding kwamen de Senegalese studenten naar België om aan het ontwerp te werken en daarna trokken de Belgische studenten naar Senegal om het ter plaatse te realiseren.
Het resultaat gaat over veel meer dan een technisch uitdagend project. Het toont de samenwerking met internationale partners, het leven en werken in Senegal, en de persoonlijke ervaringen die zo’n traject met zich meebrengt. Een verhaal over engagement, samenwerking en duurzame impact – van de voorbereiding in België tot de realisatie in Senegal.

At Humasol, we believe that close partnerships, where sustainable technology and social solidarity come together, lead to real impact. That is why every year we guide students who put their knowledge and energy into sustainable technology projects all around the world. We are a student organisation of some 120 volunteers, and the documentary zooms in on one project team of four students.
We follow a team of Belgian and Senegalese students (KU Leuven and UCAD Dakar) throughout their entire journey around Ferme Moringa in Mbodiène, Senegal – an educational agro-ecological farm that trains vulnerable families and young people in sustainable agriculture. Together they designed and installed a solar panel installation, an electricity grid and a water pumping system. During the preparation, the Senegalese students came to Belgium to work on the design, after which the Belgian students travelled to Senegal to build it on site.
The result is about much more than a technically challenging project. It shows the collaboration with international partners, life and work in Senegal, and the personal experiences such a journey brings with it. A story about commitment, collaboration and lasting impact – from the preparation in Belgium to the realisation in Senegal.
